Perros-Guirec is situated on the Cotes d’armor on the north coast of Brittany, about 20 mins drive from Lannion.

The main beach at Perros-Guirec, Le Plage de Trestraou, is one of those rare things in Brittany:- a seaside resort. Most of the beaches in Brittany are completely unspoilt apart from maybe a handy toilet and nearby restaurant or cafe, but here there are a number of commercial enterprises including several restaurants, a hotel – Le Grand Hotel Trestraou , gift shop, ice cream parlour and behind the complex a bar, small supermarket and a couple of other businesses.
Despite these offerings, the sea front looks stylish, with the afore mentioned units looking out onto a long and quite popular sandy beach.
When you come to visit, make sure that you book the boat trip which visits a group of nearby islands, one of which is inhabited the others provide a home for the wonderful wildlife which abounds on these islands.

The trip takes a couple of hours and you will observe such feathered creatures as Puffins, razorbills, Gannets, the Shag with its one meter wingspan and much more. Have your camera ready for sightings of the Grey seal, of which there are about 30. You are more likely to see them basking at low tide, then when high tide arrives they go off searching for food.
The boats are very comfortable with a knowledgeable crew and a toilet, however there are no refreshments so take your own if necessary.
You can book this trip from the booking office at the end of the beach, just before the long concrete quay, the cost is 18 euros for the 2 hour trip and 21 euros for the two and a half hour trip which includes a wander around one of the islands. There are price reductions for children.
You can also pre-book this trip by phoning Gare Maritime in France 02 96 91 10 00.

Can I take my dog on the sept Iles boat trip? Thank you
Hi Sally
Yes, you can. I have seen a few well-behaved dogs on the boat. France is a very doggie-friendly country!
